Wreath Party!

I am linked up to a wreath party at http://www.keepnthesunnyside.blogspot.com/ !  I made this wreath for my front door several years ago with my mom and Tina.  It was easy and just  fraction of the cost for what you would pay to buy one already made!  We purchased a big grapevine wreath at Walmart - with matching flowers and pumpkins that we all liked.  Then we hot glued everything in place and added a cute fall bow. We spent around $30 for all three wreaths!  Last year I purchased the pumpkin sign at the Prairie Peddler Festival and hung it in the middle of my wreath.

A little bit of fall....

My newly painted front door!

Today after cleaning for a while, I decided to sneak out a couple of fall items.  Then I decided my dull tan front door needed to be spray painted burgundy wine before fall and this is the end result.  I love it!!  It matches our outside siding where our garage door was and now I just need to do our shutters!  I am so ready for fall :)

What I'm loving today....

Today I am loving......

1.)  A little girl snuggled up beside me taking an afternoon nap.....

2.)  A rainy afternoon.....with thunder rumbleing outside....

3.)  The fact that next month I can get out all of my fall decorations!  I so love fall and am looking forward to cool crisp days, pumpkin patches, apply picking, pumpkin pies, apple cider, hayrides, hot tea, crunchy leaves....until then I want to enjoy every bit of summer...

4.)  Tomorrow our AC will hopefully be fixed and then we can spend the afternoon at the beach....

A lunch date and playing at the park...

Today we got up, ready and went to take daddy lunch.  The girls put on "princess" dresses for their lunch and we picked up subway to take to daddy.  After having lunch....which turned out to be just a couple minutes of daddy time....we headed to Mt. Gilead park.  We played at the park for quite awhile and headed out for ice cream.  After ice cream we stopped by Mt. Gilead State Park to check it out and play on their playground.  On the way home we decided to stop and buy daddy another pear tree for Fathers Day.

Memorial Weekend 2010

Memorial Weekend started with Ashley's softball game and then we went to Lake Erie.  We stayed at a little hotel on the beach which we love because we have a little slick of semi private beach and can have beach bonfires at night.  We had a great time, we arrived on Saturday and played at the beach and had a bonfire Saturday night.  Sunday we decided to make a big breakfast - fruit pancakes and omelets then headed out to explore.  We went to Huron to find the pier..  We first found a little older couple who had caught 5 large fish for supper.....we saw a snake and huge dead fish.  Then we headed back farther to the pier....we decided to walk the WHOLE pier with the kids all the way out to the lighthouse.  It ended up being a vary long hot walk but it was fun.  We found a "cotton" tree and Ashley and Hailey had fun picking the "fluff" off the trees.  On the way back a Blue Heron caught a fish and ate it on the walkway behind us.  We decided to grab some food and head to Marblehead lighthouse for a picnic.  The lighthouse and water were beautiful!  When we got back to our beach we had another bonfire, Hailey and Ashley made a little friend, and we had more smores.  Poey decided to roast a whole fork of marshmellows, once he caught them on fire he decided to see how far he could throw them....   across the beach.....  It was such a great weekend of beach, water, exploring, sparklers, smores and fun!
